Nanoscience

At CNIB we do research focused on nano particles from biological origin which are obtained from natural sources from Ecuador. One of the most important research and development lines is parenchymal nanocellulose purified from seeds belonging to native palms from the neotropical region.

We have combined our biorefinery research with nanoscience aiming to the integral valorization of agricultural and industrial residues. Moreover, we produce a number of nanocomposites for applications in textiles, medicine, engineering, food, biotechnology and other industrial fields.
